The Punisher – Trailer Review & Thoughts

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. – Netflix

I don’t really do these all that much but this trailer was too good to pass up. This may be the best Netflix Marvel trailer in my opinion. My favorite part about this trailer is that it is set to the sound of Metallica’s One. For starters that’s an excellent, heavy song to pump you up but it almost fits the tone of the Punisher perfectly. One is all about a soldier at war who is dying, he has lost his arms, legs, sight and hearing. Part of the song is the soldier using Morse code to ask God to kill him. Frank Castle is that soldier, he lost everything, physically he is fine but Frank would rather be dead then be without his family. The Punisher doesn’t care whether he lives or dies as long as he get his revenge.

This trailer also perfectly sets the tone of the series. In the first 30 seconds we see Frank Castle’s wife shot in the head right in front of him. The Punisher is a brutal, violent, and graphic adult themed comic series and it looks like Netflix is pulling no punches. This trailer is also chock full of Frank killing people so we can tell this show is going to be true to the source material.

The trailer also gives a look at some of the character we will be seeing. Karen Page is there and we see the meeting and team up of Micro and Frank. On top of that there is a bunch of law enforcement types who are hunting and Frank and some of them seem to think he is dead. I wonder why.

All 13 episodes of The Punisher are set to be released in 2017 with no date given. Many people online believe the release date will be around November 11th which is Veterans Day in America. Veterans Day would make a lot of since to me, considering Frank is a veteran. Anyways I can’t wait for this to drop.
